WWW INFLUENCE

Ever since the runway shows months ago, Ralph Lauren's western inspired quintessential Americana designs in his SS11 collections stood out to me as one of the most cohesive and iconic collections of them all. How do you feel about the trend? Is it making you want to bring out your inner cowgirl?

HEELS!

I really wanted to create a guide that was practical, but did not skimp on high style and fashion at the same time. Most of the shoes are under $100 and all under $200! I hope this serves as a good touchstone for your summer heel shopping.

DON'T CALL IT A COMEBACK

Wedges are the smart gal's way to last in six inches all day. I became good friends with them this past fall/winter season, but I think things are gonna heat up even more this spring...

Kim And I Have The Same Boots!

Kim Kardashian shooting the opening credits for KKTNY
I bought these same boots when I was in London in March of this year and since then I've only worn them maybe ten times. I was shopping with my sister and she bought them first. After I saw her with them I just had to have them. I was dying to find a pair of over-the-knee boots that I could actually afford and so I was smitten when I found these. So why can I count the number of times I've worn them? Well, the heels is probably about four and a half inches tall—not tall enough for me! I can't work with anything under five inches anymore. On top of that, i've realized that i prefer thigh high boots versus over-the-knee. They work on Kim because she's five inches short than me. Also, my major peeve with these boots is that when I walk more than fifty meters they start sagging over my knees and such. Gets really unbearably annoying.

But yeah, this is still cool.

Thing's I'm Loving...

Twenty-one seconds of pure magic...absolute favorite commercial airing right now. It's the only ad since Charlize Theron in J'adore Dior that's combined sexiness with class and a dash of ethereal beauty. Love the concept + it's stunning to watch (don't ya love the eye candy?!)

Just bought this professional emery board from the Sephora Collection a couple hours and took it for a test file. Fell in love. Now usually seven inches isn't enough to satisfy me...
This is an exception, go figure.
Kim's on other December covers (like Cleo in South Africa) but this one I love as well as the spread. Love the different makeup looks.
Which one is your fave?
I told you how much I adored Jessica Alba's December Elle cover but back then they hadn't released this photo. This one is my favorite. Love the glasses. So fun and fab.

Candy colors for spring...it's all I'm about these days! So excited, are you?

Enraptured

Matiko "Yumie" Wedges

I'm currently obsessing over these taupe lace-up wedges by Matiko. I would usually require that the heels (especially on a wedge!) be higher than three and a half inches...

...But the exquisite detailing on these shoes are remarkable. I die for the atypical cutouts and concealed platform—these have the look of booties and the essence of sandals, the best of both worlds, season-less. And I love that they come with a padded sole. Perfect for wearing all day long, class to class, meeting to meeting, building to building, staircase after staircase, you get the idea. Totally worth the $172.00 that they cost. Now if I only had that cash lying around somewhere...

Gorgeous front view. Ah, platforms from the frontal view make me shiver—so impolitely sexy.

The Lust Fest Continues...

Ah! Here are the six-inch Christian Louboutin black suede and leather gold rivet-embellished sandals I was lusting over in the 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall RTW collection last week!

These shoes exemplify what my stye for statement heels are. Pairing these haute runway shoes off is a challenge though. I would never wear them with a flashy LBD or cocktail dress—that's too cliche and predictable. I'd mix them with some much more casual.

Can you believe that these babies cost nearly $1,500! I would call it absurd, but there are people who would actually pay that much for it...

Winter Wishlist

I've already decided that my late fall/early winter shopping trip is going to consist of only the following: Thigh-high socks, cable-knit socks (to wear with booties), sleeved maxi dresses and structured & a-lined mini dresses. It won't be complete without a garter belts and a fresh pair of leather thigh-high flat boots (I don't do heels in the freezing cold) and gansta ankle booties. I've also vowed to limit myself to five black pieces—including the boots! Yikes.

I'm Shopping in the Men's Department From Now On...

My most recent purchase. So in love with it.

There's something magnetic about scarves that is irresistible to me. Found this knit crinkle scarf with fringe detail in the men's department of Forever 21 this afternoon. I wanted a light fall jacket, but was unsuccessful (boo hoo) so this baby will keep me warm in place of one.

Think I'm becoming a scarf junkie.
